The BAKFlip F1^® (Heavy Duty) Tonneau Cover / Truck Bed Cover has all of the great good looks and functionality of the BAKFlip G2 (Generation 2) Model but in a Heavy Duty / OEM (Factory) Quality version as this cover's outer surfaces are Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer (FRP)!   FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer) provides unparalleled impact resistance while the aluminum surfaces underside the cover ensures absolute structural integrity!  The BAKFlip F1 also has a higher density EPS core than the G2, has superior impact resistance, stays cool to the touch with some refinements in the operating components and their fit and finish under the cover.  The cover looks very similar (if not almost identical) to the G2, but the difference is the FRP on the outer panels.  These outer panels come in a UV protected black finish, they stay cool to the touch, and provide superior performance in extreme weather and a 2 year factory warranty!  However, the core of the BAKFlip F1 Tonneau Cover / Truck Bed Cover is 35% more dense, and as a result is more rigid then the G2.  The BAKFlip F1 opens, closes, and operates identically to the BAKFlip G2 Model, however the BAKFlip F1 has the following refinements: 

• Panels on F1 are 35% more rigid when compared to the G2
• The BAKFlip F1's Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer on all outer surfaces.
• The BAKlip's underside panel surfaces are tough textured aluminum that have two coats of epoxy primer that is baked on at 460 degrees.  This entire expoxy primer coating process is completed twice (first coat applied, baked on and cooled, and then the process is repeated).  Once the two coats of primer has set, an extraordinarily tough and scratch-resistant polyester based coating is used as the final finishing coat (which gives the look of a tough, baked on enamel, but is much higher quality).  This coating process ensures that the covers is both scratch and UV resistant.  The 2 stage enamel process makes for a final finishing coat that is more of a factory look
• The BAKFlip F1's core is 35% more dense than the BAKFlip G2.  As a result, the BAKFlip HD handles approximately 35% more distributed weight when compared to the G2.  As a result, the HD is much considerably more rigid then the G2.
